Chrome Cleanup


  1. Open Chrome browser.
  2. With Chrome open, click on the three dots (Menu) in the upper-right hand corner. Click “More tools” and then click “Clear browser data”,





  1. Where it says Time range, click on the drop-down menu, change it to “All time”. Click on all three boxes: Browsing history, Cookies and other site data and Cached images and files. Now click “Clear data”.





Internet Explorer cleanup


  1. Open-up IE (Internet Explorer), click on the gear icon in the top right corner, then Internet options.

  1. On the General Tab, click on the Delete button under Browser History. When the Delete Browser History box comes up, check the boxes as shown on the picture below. Then click the Delete button in the lower-right hand corner.

  1. Once completed close out IE and then re-open browser to see how the computer is running. If you are still seeing slowness in computer processes continue to the Disk Cleanup section.

Disk Cleanup

  1. Click on the Start button and click in the search bar. In the search bar type in “disk” and then under best match click on “Disk Cleanup”.




  1. Once open, in the lower left-hand corner and click on “Clean up system files”. The computer will then calculate files and then bring you back to the Disk Cleanup box. Now, in the box where it says “Files to delete” check off all the boxes listed if it isn’t already.





  1. Now click on the ok button and then you will get the box listed below. Click on Delete files.








  1. Then the computer will go through and remove all the files that where check off in Step 5.






  1. Once finished the box will close out automatically. At this point, please reboot your laptop. Once booted back up and logged back, see how the computer and accessing different websites is running. If you are still experiencing slowness issues please submit a IT ticket to: https://helpdesk.wellspringlutheran.com/portal/home.
