Installing and Configuring Microsoft Authenticator App
NOTE: Screenshots for this document is from Android phone. View from apple device may differ.
- Tap the Google or Apple Store app on your phone.
- Search Microsoft Authentication in the Google or Apple Store.
- Tap the Install or Get option for the app.
- After the app is Installed tap Open or locate the app after install on your phone and tap on it.
- Tap I Agree on the privacy page.
- Tap Add Work or School account.
- Sign in with your Wellspring email.
- On the next screen, put in your Wellspring email password. (Should be the same as your computer password.)
- The next page advises to open the app to approve the sign in. To do this go back to your home screen, find the app, then tap it. (NOTE: You may see a message that Microsoft didn’t hear back from you in time. If so, click “Send another request to my Microsoft Authenticator app” and go back into the app. If you still can’t proceed to the next step, select sign in another way and choose the option to send a code via text or phone call to your phone.)
- On the next screen is the Device Registration. Tap Continue. (NOTE: You will need to have a screen lock setup on your device to use this app.)
- On the next screen tap Register.
- The next screen states Account Added. Tap Finish.
- You are all set. When signing into SharePoint or your email online you will need a code. To get a code open your Microsoft Authenticator app. Tap your Wellspring account at the top. It generates a new code automatically every 30 seconds.
NOTE: To setup the text option for receiving a code instead of using the app, choose the “Text code to my authentication phone” option for Verification Option after completing Step 8 above. Then click Verified Preferred Option on the next screen. Then a text is sent to your phone with the code you will need to enter on the following screen. After this jump to step 10 above to finish registration.
